Treat it with respect, prepare it with love, make your table and plate beautiful. Many people I know have issues with food. The first step to healing your relationship with food is to learn to honor it, to sit down and eat it slowly ,alone or with your family (tvs and phones off) and to savor every bite. Off to work out. Yesterday decided to do a cardio day. 20mn climb walking. 20 mn interval run. 25mn interval speed biking and 20mn swim and stretch. Great session. But normally I will do a combination of cardio/weights/stretch. Whatever you choose to do, stay focused. Forget what’s going on around you and focus. Even when walking on incline, try focusing on posture: shoulders back, chin up, breathe and contract your abs. Walking can be so much more than just walking. It can be a real self confidence booster! This week, in line with my book, Embracing Change, I thought I might do things I don’t usually do: so, I went out to see a Shakespeare Play and also went to an organ improvisation concert. The organist played while they projected a 1925 movie of the Phanthom of the Opera. I had a great time! Check out what’s playing near you and try something different for a change. Many cities offer free events, such as these, and it would be a shame not to make a most of it. Embracing change can mean trying new textures and flavors (photo 3), Or doing things differently (such as living on a boat- here is Lucky Charm the one I used to live on). It can also mean trying things that scare you like jumping a few meters into the water, trying out bungee jumping, skydiving or a roller coaster. But Embracing Change also means accepting painful moments such as death, heartbracks or sickness (cancer). They are a part of life as well and telling us it’s time to grow. (Photo 4) I took photo 5 at Lake Powell. Most definitely one of the most beautiful places on earth.
